CARBONDALE FIREFIGHTERS TO
ASSIST ON ALS CALLS
November 2009
You may have notices something
different around town over the last few weeks. You may have
seen the Fire Engines responding a little more. Well, things
are a little different. As of November 2009, through a
partnership between the City of Carbondale, IAFF Local 1095,
and Cottage Ambulance, one of the City's Fire Engines will
respond to Advanced Life Support Calls within the City when
there is a unit available. This project started back in
January and took time to develop a plan, policies and
procedures, and also acquire some needed equipment. The Fire
Department helping on these emergencies will help ensure
that the citizens of Carbondale receive the best care
possible. |
